verizon strikers on madison avenue, midtown. on Flickr.When I went out to lunch, I was hearing this loud, honking noise. I didn’t know where it was coming from, but after a closer look, I noticed a group of Verizon workers who are currently on strike holding horns and circling around the Verizon Wireless store on Madison near 42nd Street. Not exactly the greatest shot of the scene, but it sure is timely.

picket line. on Flickr.Usually, when I see folks on strike in the city, I generally see the big inflatable rat in front of office buildings. The other day, I saw a live picket line with union members chanting and all. This is becoming more and more common these days.
