Just before the Olympics started a couple of weeks ago, brand advocates for Ralph Lauren handed out American flags over by Bryant Park. In case you didn’t know, Ralph Lauren was the official USA team outfitter for the 2012 Games.

Last Thursday was Flag Day, and not only was the President in town, but over at Bryant Park, there was a big celebration. Flag Day also serves dual purpose as the Army’s birthday. The park was filled with servicemen, veterans, and the usual lunch crowd. USO girls performed “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” (got a posed shot of the gals after the performance - the lawn was completely clear during the show) and musicians dressed in revolutionary era costumes performed at the perimeter of the park.

Since yesterday was 9/11, there were a number of tributes going on today. I went out during my lunch break and stumbled upon the Marine Corps Marching Band playing a number of patriotic tunes at Bank of America Plaza across the street from Bryant Park.
