Many years ago, I did a LOT of band and live photography, since so many of my friends were in bands. There’s something I love about shooting at a show (or any event, quite honestly) and I think it’s because I love to hunt down moments. It’s energetic and spontaneous which is something I love. This is Melody Joy an electro artist at the SFX event hosted by my friend Demetra at R-Bar.
having fun at the balloon inflation event. on Flickr.
Lots and lots of families were out and about at the balloon inflation last night. So much so that sadly, there were a couple of announcements that some kids got separated from their parents. Many parents just toted their tots on their shoulders.
Back in September, I went with my friend Courtney to Fashion’s Night Out for the second year in a row. We started off at Bloomingdale’s and then walked for a bit down Fifth Avenue. Bendel’s always seems to have quite a crowd and pretty great highlights.
hungry march band at evian wood racquet cup! on Flickr.
The Hungry March Band certainly knows how to party! The first time I saw them was a few years ago at the Art Directors Club gala and was totally mesmerized by their infectious jams that creates an instant party. I was so excited to find out that they were performing at the Evian Wood Racquet Cup. They paraded arount the grounds of the West Side Tennis Club & totally got everyone on the dance floor, regardless of age.
One of the coolest parts of the Evian Wood Racquet Cup was at the Social Media Lounge area they set up. Free silkscreened totes, drinks, table tennis, live music by the Hungry March Band, and a free Instagram printing area were all on hand. This is the silkscreener making one of the bags!
The Instagram meetup group met at Forest Hills’ West Side Tennis Club for a tour of the former home of the US Open and to check out the first annual Evian Wood Raquet Classic. Participants like this group of folks, dressed up in their finest retro-inspired tennis threads for the day.
