crowded st. patrick’s - ash wednesday. on Flickr.
Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, and even though I’m not Catholic, I decided to walk by St. Patrick’s on my lunch break just to see how many people were out and about. It was quite packed, with lines that seemed endless.

vendor. antique garage, chelsea. on Flickr.
Since 1993, the Antiques Garage Flea Market has called the garage between 6th and 7th Avenues in Chelsea home every weekend. Last summer, it was announced that the popular antiquing spot (which has some amazing and unique finds) would be closing, but due to an 11th hour deal, the spot would be on a month-to-month deal until the owners, Extell Development decide not to renew. Under the agreement, they can give the popular market merely two weeks notice to close up shop. The developer bought the property in 2006 and the future of the market has been in limbo since, as the rumor is that they’d like to built a hotel there. The area is becoming quite a popular hotel location, as many have popped up in the area over the past few years.

The other day, I stopped for a pork bun from my favorite place in Elmhurst, and as I left, I saw this woman carrying her dog come up the block. I absolutely had to snap it.
woman in sari commuting. on Flickr.
Taking photos on the subway is something that I’ve always loved. I especially love seeing the constant mash-up of cultures, ages, fashion styles - everything. Seeing people in traditional dress is something I also really love. This Indian woman in a sari caught my eye and I couldn’t help getting a shot of her.
